Tamper-Resistant RFID Infant-Tracking System Improves Security轉貼

美國威斯康辛州某家醫院,把RFID應用在醫院內的病患控管制度上。對於這類型的應用,似乎只有花大錢,應該就可以做到。


門口用的是262Khz,一般走廊等病房環境用的是318 MHZ,應該就是空間大小的關係!


記得曾經在電影裡看過,國外的重罪囚犯假釋期間就有類似RFID的偵測器具佩帶在身上。


如果要轉用在病患身上,或許應該真的只能針對[嚴重失能或無無力自主能力等病患]吧


如果用在一般病患,不知道會有會衍生出人生自由的議題議題出來。甚至,Hacker能掌控整間所有病患的進出.....或者只要有權限的人員就能自由控制任何病患的進出權限...


我想,這類控制人類行為自由的系統,在設計的時候,一定要加入某些情理的考量才行

Wisconsin's Waukesha Memorial Hospital, part of national health-care provider ProHealth Care, has completed one year with an infant and pediatric RFID security system that alerts staff members if a patient's ID tag is tampered with, or if that tag approaches an exit. The system, which replaces an older RFID infant-tracking solution, improves security and enables employees to determine which patient triggered an alarm, says Roberta Sonnentag, the hospital's clinical manager of labor/delivery/recovery/postpartum (LDRP) and gynecology services.

The previous system did not alert the hospital if a ID tag was removed, nor did it identify specific patients. Thus, if an alarm was sounded as a result of a pediatric patient approaching an exit or elevator, workers were unable to determine which patient had done so, only which exit or elevator that person was approaching. The greatest concern, Sonnentag says, was that the hospital could not detect when a security bracelet was being removed. Patients recognized that weakness in the system as well, asking the staff, "What would happen if I took this off?"

Therefore, about two years ago, Waukesha Memorial began reviewing its options. The staff investigated systems offered by three vendors, ultimately choosing the SafePlace Pediatric and Infant Security Solution, provided by
RF Technologies, because of its band-cutting technology
which transmits an alert if a band is tampered withand because RF Technologies offered what it deemed the best customer service. "All of the systems had sensors that would work," Sonnentag says, but RF Technologies also offered training and follow-up customer service.

The system was installed in the summer of 2007. "RF Technologies sent its staff and trainers on the site," Sonnentag states, "and they stayed with us for two or three weeks." During that period of time, the company set up the system, trained the staff on its use and provided troubleshooting as it was launched.

The system consists of RF Technologies RFID interrogators deployed throughout the women's and children's wing of the hospital, located on the building's third floor. There are 33 LDRP single rooms in that wing, as well as eight pediatric beds and 19 neo-natal beds. Sonnentag declines to provide the exact number, or locations, of those readers, but indicates they are deployed to locate RFID tags throughout the pediatric, obstetrics and infant intensive-care units, as well as to sound alerts if the tags approach an exit or elevator.

New pediatric patients and infants all receive an RF Technologies dual-
frequency RFID tag that transmits at 262 kHz to interrogators located in doorways, and at 318 MHz to readers deployed in hallways and other locations. Patients checking in are instructed as to the purpose of the tag, Sonnentag says, and instructed not to remove it. The hospital staff then inputs data about the patient, which is linked in a back-end server, managed by the hospital, to the unique ID number on the RFID tag.



Once a patient is wearing a tag on a wrist or ankle, readers deployed around the units capture the tag's ID number and transmit that number to the server via a cabled connection. The tag or bracelet must be attached shut on a patient in order to operate. If a person attempts to remove the bracelet, thereby breaking the connection, the tag immediately sends an alert to area interrogators that transmit data to the server. RFID Technologies software interprets that information, enabling the system to sound an audible alarm at nurses' stations, and to contact the staff's cell phones.

If a patient ID tag comes close to a doorway, a shut door will automatically lock. If the door is open, an audible alarm will sound and the doors will swing shut and lock. If an elevator door is open and the tag is in close proximity to the elevator, a louder audible alarm will sound. Staff members throughout the wing can view computer screens to see which zone the patient is in, as well as that patient's identity.

The original system also had many false alarms. Some still occur, Sonnentag says, though they are usually caused by human error. For instance, a patient may attempt to remove an infant's tag to readjust the fitting, thereby setting off an alarm. To prevent such false alarms, the staff can ask patients to inform a nurse if they need to adjust the fitting. The nurse can then input data into the system that a specific tag will be opened, and make the authorized adjustment.

According to Sonnentag, the hospital has conducted practice drills on the system several times throughout the past year, including removing tags in a hospital room and determining how appropriately the staff responded. She has been very happy with the results, she says, noting, "We know the system is doing its job. It's working very well."

The tag batteries have a life of about one year, says Kathie Vick, RF Technologies' marketing communications manager, but that is a conservative estimate. Waukesha purchases new tags every year to ensure there are no failures. Thus far, Sonnentag says, there have been no battery problems.

好一句『焦頭爛額』....

今天是暑假的最後一天,全家帶著小孩陪著阿公阿嬤到九族文化村散散心。天氣還算賞臉,並沒有給一個炙熱難受的艷陽。


整個早上玩得當然都是搖搖椅、旋轉木馬、單軌車、空中纜車....等等。果然是一派有小孩的家庭玩法!


中午路過了加勒比海遊戲區,無意中瞥見了一座小小的房屋,呀!竟然是塔羅牌,一個問題才50元。感覺蠻划算的,趕緊帶著小孩直接往屋內走。


小小的房間內就兩個位置,一位很年輕的小姐寧靜的坐在對面。看見客人後稍微閔了一下嘴,問了我想問的方向:當然是學業,已經拖了兩年....當然想問問方向...而且最近很努力的Coding,感覺似乎稍為有些成果。


沒想到得到四個字:  焦頭爛額......


卦象顯示,方向似乎稍微冷門,要畢業實在不容易,況且這幾個月將會有許多零碎的小事纏身,整體來說在此學業又將遇到一個瓶頸.....


我的老天!......說不難過是假的,我只能期許自己,有更多的毅力去挑戰未來!

資料庫連結的Connection String

最近開始練習到資料庫程式的撰寫,在書中提到了一個有關Connection String的網站,實在非常有用。


把它記錄起來,以備不時之需:

首先,先選擇你要的資料庫類型,目前先用Microsoft 的 Access Mdb資料庫來作練習。


所以點選[Access」類型:


一般來說,在VB.NET裡頭,SQL連接類型分為四類:


ODBC、OLE DB、SQL、ORACLE等


連接Access資料庫,可用ODBC與OLE DB兩種。書上推薦我用OLEDB,原因我也不清楚。


語法:

如果要加上PASSWORD就用下面的:

目前測試的結果是OK的。但是有無Password似乎都可以連的上XD..

終於卸下沉重的壓力的一部分

聽到這個消息,起先以為跟過去一樣,應該是一個空包彈!但是隨著越來越多大人物的背書,哈!好像是玩真的。


終於,這個沉重的責任可以「暫時」卸下。說真的,主計的業務其實也不算太多,除了每月固定的月報結算、經費請領以及各類憑證節銷等。公文一般來說其實比起其他業務應該算是少的囉。


但或許是自己容易緊張,且個性較為粗糙,對於經費的控管,應該是那種很容易出事類型的人。所以,自己常常逼著自己無時無刻都要把握[守法」的原則。


快要兩年的過去工作經驗,常常讓我不時在夢中嚇醒,例如"忘記送新水憑單"、"核銷錯誤經費"....等等。現在終於可以從這個惡夢中走出來。


我也希望這次[政府」一定要玩真的!不要走沒多久,有來給我一個回馬槍,至少先走各一年,或許明年有新進,也更適合接任這個必須[細心、剛正不婀」的職務。


輕鬆了,可以花更多時間把其他的工作做好,可以花多一點心思在教學、可以花多一點創意在資訊業務、當然也可以花更多一點時間在學業的努力上。


總之,卸下並非結束,而是另一個目標的起點。人若沒有一個拼死也得完成的目標,鈉人生活著還有啥意義呢

乾癬症....

這些病患真的很辛苦,倘若從小就得了乾癬,其實對他們的成長多少一定會有影響!大多數患者給人的感覺就是悲觀、自卑、低自信...


真的很想幫助這群人,如果真的能有時間,我願意花在醫學的研究上,找出治療這類病患的方法。


我很看不起一些醫生,根本不能以同理心去對待病患,動不動就說「這是絕症,你這輩子別想好!」

擷取GPS資料,計算相關速度

GPS定位器,手頭上有兩組,分別為SiRF STAR III與II代晶片。為何會有兩組?因為當初買GPS為的是「汽車導航」,四五年前,車機也不是非常流行,所以就買了一組PDA外加一個GPS定位晶片(SIRF STAR II代),後來用了兩三年發現有III代晶片推出後,考量到接收訊號敏感度的問題,又買了一組III黛的晶片。但,後來還是向汽車用導航機折服,因為專用機確實比較穩定(或許是因為系統專門開發出來的吧)


廢話不多說,最近在網路上看到有人利用GPS讀取的資料,來作分析,一般人多半用在旅遊紀錄。但自己卻有個念頭,用在汽車速度資料分析!既然GPS讀到座標資料,一定可以換算成速度,將速度資料記錄下來,不就變成一個簡單的汽車性能測試儀器?


原本打算順便可以練習寫看看PPC軟體,但網路上下了一下搜尋,沒想到已經有很多現成的軟體可以使用!最近這幾天就在練習GPS DASH這套軟體,順道把使用心得PO在網路上分享!

安裝在PDA上後大概畫面如下:



畫面上有,速度表、海拔高度表、衛星數量表、時間、總里程等等...


使用方法很簡單,GPSDASH2代之後,對於GPS晶片多半能夠自動搜尋,如果你的晶片搜尋不到,一般都設定在COM2 ,Bit rate 設定在4800即可!

再來就是如何將GPS搜尋到的資料分析了,GPSDASH2已經有內建分析軟體,所以可以很快分析自己剛才車速的表現!但要下載到電腦上分析也可以! 副檔名是:NMEA!


NME是GPS的標準Protocol,所以相關資料可以在底下網址找到:

我將xxx.nmea檔案匯入NB後,利用EXCEL將資料匯入,大約分成GCA、GSA、GSV、RMC等四類資料!我們只看RMC這個類別,所以利用EXCEL篩選的功能將RMC類的資料篩選出來!


最後化成底下這張簡單的圖:



右上圖片是車速曲線圖,(共擷取16秒),其實資料總共有1000多秒!但為了容易看懂,只截取16秒,這個圖就可以用來計算0-100km,100-200km的時間...^_^


第一欄是GPSRMC裡秒數,第二欄是我擷取到的時速,但很奇怪,我發現都是Mile英制,所以先乘1.6!


第三欄是每秒速度(已經換算成m/s)


第四欄是每秒與前一秒速度的變化差


右下圖片就是用第四欄資料畫出來的!


兩天使用下來,我發現一般GPS資料更新速度都是1HZ,所以一秒鐘只記錄一筆GPS資料,與自己當時車速的變化的確有些差距!


上網搜尋一般汽車雜誌使用的測速儀, DBOX(一組二萬) !OH MYGOD....真是貴,看了一下Catalog,果然10HZ,一秒鐘更新10次資料!


不死心,搜尋一下GPS晶片,哈哈,科思達出了一款GPS晶片,至少有5HZ的速度,一秒更新五次,藍芽傳輸,如果外接NB,應該可以很輕鬆當作一組汽車性能儀!

再度拾起書籍....心中無限感慨...

到底是自己無心或真的無力?唸書不應該這麼痛苦,更不應該這麼困難!拿起一本不算厚的書,竟然會覺得如此沈重?


翊宸的到來,打亂了我原本的讀書與進修計畫,但,這麼說其實卻不太公平!因為,抱著他時,享受幸福又甜蜜的滋味,不就是額外得來的獎勵嗎?


好幾個月不想碰書,我想,其實應該是自己給自己找藉口!!老實說Grace帶小孩真的比較累...唸書,不就只是坐在書桌前、動動手指、翻翻紙張


停頓了三四個月,實在也於心不安,碰巧X承中心又說JAVA的課有開了,乾脆答應他們,直接報名!我想,每個星期固定跑去台中上課,念一點關於程式設計的課程,多少對未來研究時會用到的工具有幫助,唉呀~天助自助,我一定要逼自己....


晚上送翊宸回去的時候,心中突然有些許失落感,為何自己不「勇敢的」...把他接回來...我只要有拿破崙的精神,每天睡三小時就好....但是,卻突然卻得自己好膽小....心中這麼想,手裡頭還是把他往隔壁送


....翊蓁,你長大了,一定要好好照顧弟弟,你,在我的眼中,真的比他幸福太多了....


這篇實在不知道在寫什麼...今天上完課已經頭暈了...趕快停止吧...不要再寫了...

口是心非...又沒耐心....


最近Grace說,「你最近好像對翊蓁比較兇!」,雖然簡單的回答,「他現在的個性就是要修正。」....其實,坦白說來,靜下心想,最大的原因仍舊是在於自己的耐心不夠!唉,的確該好好檢討才對,尤其另一個角色又是為人師者,更應該磨練自己的性子。


常常為了做自己的事情,忽略了陪小孩的時間,這實在是一個很大的錯誤!不管是哪一個時期,既然已經身為人父,不是就應該負擔該有的責任嗎?這麼大的人,竟然會拿小理由搪塞,實在不該啊!


明天,難得GRACE說要將翊蓁全日托給媽媽帶,我當然心中樂得開心,樂的是終於GRACE可以讓下心來讓自己好好的過個三天,我也深深的覺得他的確應該休息一下,專心的做一下自己要做的事情,況且這三天也不是休假,我們的確有正事要做,兩人出去不加一,幫的忙的確多一些!


可是嘴裡講的輕鬆,一個人的時候,心裡總是會有些掛念,不是擔心媽媽帶不好,老實說,我媽比我細心一百倍,交給他我可以放一百二十個心,但.......想到三天不在翊蓁、翊辰的身邊,心頭竟不自覺得酸了起來。翊辰我不擔心,畢竟他還小,又已經習慣保母帶,但翊蓁,卻是幾乎很少離身超過一天...


我總是會想,會不會到了五點,他故作輕鬆的跟阿公說要去散步,其實是要到路口等我們的車子、他會不會到了晚上不見我和母親,吵著要見媽媽。為人父母,分離總是痛苦。但我們不也知道要讓孩子有[獨立]的機會嗎?果然口是心非,講得輕鬆,但做起來仍舊有一千一百的掛念...


蓁,這兩天晚上要好好聽阿嬤的話,爸爸媽媽過幾天就會回來看你~你要知道,你永遠是我們心中的寶貝,不管發生任何事情,你都是............好好保重喔!我知道你心裡頭想甚麼,只是...你不會表達!

翊蓁二歲了....快快快長大...這樣就可以上幼稚園^_^

今天,我們的翊蓁終於兩歲了!^_^,好高興!代表他開始慢慢懂事,以後可以慢慢用溝通的!=_="希望如此,不然他的脾氣實在不好....大概遺傳到我吧!


最近思考到翊蓁生氣的模樣,竟然現很多動作竟然跟我同出一轍....唉,果真身教害了自己!自己都做不好了,又怎能去無理的要求子女行為?而且,我還發現,只要小孩學過一次以後,之後要改過來,真的很困難,因為那時的他,已經認為「理所當然」!


在此奉勸全天下父母,不論小孩做了什麼讓你生氣、不滿意的動作,請先檢討自己,等要糾正他時,心情自然公正些!


不扯這些了,看一下翊蓁最愛的巧虎蛋糕.....^_^這可是細心的媽媽在網路上訂購的喔!

如果沒有研究所,現在的我可能是最幸福的時刻....

一年多前,我決定依照自己的興趣報考了研究所,雖然幸運的考上也開始就讀,沒想到小孩接二連三的出世。


最近,常常為了教育小孩的瑣事與GRACE吵架!可是事後想想,我實在沒有什麼資格跟他爭,從翊蓁的出生到翊宸的呱呱墜地,大部分的瑣事,其實也都是grace一個人一肩扛下,還記得母親曾經唸過我一句,「你是個不負責任的爸爸!」每每想到此,心中仍舊一陣酸痛!


半年來,我不斷的告訴自己應該休學,分擔教育子女的責任,但內心仍就有抱著一絲的心願,能夠早點畢業!常常在心中自問,[早點畢業,就可以專心帶小孩~]


不過事後想想,會不會是為了一點自私而故意搪塞理由來安慰自己!


從書房走出,進到房間不斷短短幾步的路程,但我似乎常常在心中拉鋸!也因為此,似乎更讓我靜不下心來!直到此,我才了解天下父母的偉大,畢竟,要犧牲自己的生活、興趣、一切,轉而花在小朋友身上,真的是要下很大的決心。


Grace,真是一個偉大的母親,相較之下我卻是個事事為己的父親...唉~

與時間賽跑

第二個Baby出生以後,整個生活作息一直都在調整!越來越發現,要當一個好的父母實在不容易,除了要有無比的耐心最重要的,竟然是要有一個強健的體魄,不然粉容易就倒下來=_="


天下父母心,到頭來,我還是得經歷這一遭!


除了教書的事情、還有一堆算帳、數字圍繞,回到家還有兩個嬰兒要陪!唸書的時間,實在是抽絲剝繭,連馬桶旁邊都要放一本Visual Studio ....


Lab的進度完全毫無進展!有時候實在是很恨自己,大學的時候,既然對Computer Science有興趣,為何不在那時候多花點時間深入研究Programing...每樣東西似乎都淺嘗而止,無怪乎現在補的有夠辛苦!


Programer離我實在遙遙無期!興趣、家庭、事業三頭燒!我一定得找出一個有系統的執行方法!讓三者兼顧!


天助自助,自己先想個辦法在說吧~別看未來,先把下一步走好在說!

SYMPTOMS

This article discusses a problem that occurs when network users access files on a computer that is running Microsoft Windows XP Professional when the computer is being used as a file server.

By default, there is a restriction that prohibits more than 10 concurrent server message block (SMB) commands in the Windows XP Professional Server service. This restriction also applies to other Windows client computer operating systems. For example, an SMB command occurs when a call is made to open a file. Most SMB commands are processed immediately. For example, the file open command is processed immediately. Therefore, a maximum of 10 concurrent commands is typically not a problem.

However, there are some SMB commands that are named "long-term SMB requests." These long-term SMB requests remain open until they are answered. Typically, after an answer is received, another command of the same type is sent immediately.

Additionally, a long-term SMB request is a change notification. For example, if you open Windows Explorer, and then you click a specific folder on the network, a change notification is sent to the computer that hosts the folder. This occurs whenever something changes in this folder. Then, a change notification is sent back to the client computer so that Windows Explorer can update the window and display the new file. If a computer that is running Windows XP Professional hosts the folder, only 10 SMB commands can be used at the same time. All other requests are not answered. You may also receive an error message when the other requests try to open files over the network.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because of an intentional limitation in the Windows XP Professional Server service. Windows XP Professional is designed as a client computer operating system. Therefore, Windows XP Professional is not optimized for server tasks.

RESOLUTION

Hotfix information

To resolve this problem, a hotfix is available that enables you to configure the number of concurrent SMB commands by using the MaxMpxCt registry value. This hotfix enables you to configure the MaxMpxCt value to a maximum of 255. For more information, see the "Registry information" section and the "More Information" section.

A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix might receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next service pack that contains this hotfix.

To enable this hotfix, follow these steps:
1. Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click OK.
2. Locate and then click to select the following registry subkey:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Lanmanserver\Parameters
3. On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click DWORD Value.
4. Type MaxMpxCt, and then press ENTER.
5. Right-click MaxMpxCt, and then click Modify.
6. In the Value data box, type the desired value, and then click OK.

Note You can set the number of concurrent SMB commands to a value that is between 10 and 255. The default value is 10. In Microsoft Windows Server 2003, you can set the number of concurrent SMB commands to a maximum value of 65,535.
7. Close Registry Editor.

The actual value of maximum concurrent SMB commands is determined by the minimum of 2 values. These values are the MaxMpxCt value on the server side and the MaxCmds registry value on the client computer. By default, the MaxCmds value is set to 50 in Windows XP Professional. You cannot set this value to more than 65,535.

On the Windows XP computer that is acting as the server, the MaxMpxCt value, the MaxWorkItems value, and the Size value are located in the following registry subkey:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Lanmanserver\Parameters
On the Windows XP computer that is acting as the client computer, the MaxCmds value is located in the following registry subkey:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Lanmanworkstation\Parameters
You must set the following registry values on the Windows XP Professional-based computer that is acting as the file server. By doing this, you give the necessary resources to the Server service.
You must set the MaxWorkItems value to at least 4 times the MaxMpxCt value. By default, the MaxWorkItems value is set to 64 in Windows XP Professional. You can set this value to a maximum of 1,024. We recommend that you use this setting only on computers that have sufficient memory. The exact amount of memory that you must have depends on the configuration details. In this scenario, we recommend that you use at least 1 gigabyte (GB) of memory.
By default, the Size value is set to 1 in Windows XP Professional. You must set the Size value to at least 2. If you incur problems, you must set the Size value to 3. A Size value of 1 is used to optimize Windows XP Professional for local applications. A Size value of 2 is used to balance resource usage between local application and remote applications. A Size value of 3 is used to optimize Windows XP Professional for network activity.

一句「爸爸來洗~」的省思

星期天晚上,帶了翊蓁看完媽媽後!讓他陪著奶奶回到霧社。自己則獨自一人陪著Grace到傍晚。難得兩人的悠閒,實在幸福。


晚上,開回埔里,反正也沒啥壓力,一個人騎著摩托車就往第三市場騎去。恩,記得!有了小孩後,似乎已經很少有這種「孤獨」的感覺,雖然短暫,但自由中夾雜著一點淒涼的空氣圍繞著我四周!


我找了一間店,叫了一碗肉粥、肉捲外加一盤蚵仔酥!一手喝粥一手夾肉,好不輕鬆。


突然餘光不自主的掃到一位年僅5歲的小朋友,老天!他竟然再幫賣牛排的老爸洗用過的餐具跟桶子!看他一個人捲起袖子、褲管,純熟但吃力的抬著湯桶,企圖要把餐具的菜渣洗乾淨。


我喵了一下四周,竟然沒有人在旁邊,老爸依舊應付著絡繹不絕的食客。過了五分鐘,老爸終於發現,抽空轉過頭來告訴小兒:「這個爸爸來洗~」。


「爸爸來洗~」這一句話,震撼了我的心!一句簡單的話,卻富含了無限的愛,我看到爸爸細心的走的他旁邊,拿起了桶子,幫他檢查一下弄濕了的褲管!轉過頭,我發現,小孩竟然又主動跑去收盤子、碗筷!.....


甘心奉獻,相互扶持,完美家庭的寫照,竟然在這個鄉下小鎮,一個不顯眼的夜市裡小攤裡,被我看見了!


教育,不就是為此而生?我們為人父母、成人師表,是否真的能夠帶給社會一絲貢獻?我想,還是修身治國然後才能天下齊!
